2060 Cartridge: 3500 Independent Transfer Valves

This article will provide instructions on how to replace a 2060 cartridge in a 3500 Five Function Transfer valve.

Preparation:

  • The water supply shut off valves must be turned off- see article How to Turn Off the Water Supply to the Faucet.
  • Recommended Tools: Pliers or Wrench
  • The following instructions assume the handle and associated handle pieces have been removed. For additional details, visit solutions.moen.com and select the type you are repairing. The faucet guide will contain specific information on handle assemblies associated with that style of product.

Step 1

Position the pliers or a wrench on the flat sides of the cartridge nut and rotate counter-clockwise to remove the cartridge nut.

Slide the cartridge out of the brass valve body.

Position the new cartridge so the two feet on the bottom of the cartridge line up with the two matching indents inside the valve body. Slide the cartridge into the valve body.

Slide the cartridge nut into the valve body and position the pliers or wrench on the flat sides of the cartridge nut. Rotate the cartridge nut clockwise until it is tight, then rotate it an additional 1/8 turn.

Use the pliers or wrench to rotate the brass cartridge stem so that the flat side with the round indent is facing upward.
