Cartridge Replacement-1224 or 1234 Cartridge?

This article explains how to determine which internal flow cartridge(s) you will need for a two handle faucet.

Preparation: The water supply shut off valves must be turned off- see article How to Turn Off the Water Supply to the Faucet.

​With the handle and handle mechanism pieces off, you will either see a white plastic or a stainless steel cartridge stem (A). For additional details, visit solutions.moen.com and select the type you are repairing. The faucet guide will contain specific information on handle assemblies associated with that style of product.
