Shower Faucet: Leaking- Moentrol Valves

This article will help you determine the solution to the problem of a leaking shower. This is based on the Moentrol valve system. The characteristics of a Moentrol valve are it's push/pull handle, and a back escutcheon plate with the screws located at the 2:00 and 7:00 position. This valve system utilizes a 1225 flow cartridge.

Symptom	Solution
Continuous Leaking: The shower system continues running or dripping with the handle in the off position	Replace the 1225/1200 cartridge, see article 1225 Cartridge: Single Handle Shower-Moentrol Valve.
Water Leaks From Handle	Replace the 1225/1200 cartridge, see article 1225 Cartridge: Single Handle Shower-Moentrol Valve.
