Single Handle 4" Centerset Knob: Flat Cap (After 2009)

Moen produces a variety of single handle bathroom faucets. The interior components and assembly are not the same for each model. This article will explain one of the more common handle assemblies referred to as a Flat Cap Knob. This version was introduced in 2009, and utilizes a 1255 cartridge.

Preparation:

  3. Use a 3/32" Hex wrench to loosen the hex screw (#4) until the adapter (#5) lifts off. It is not necessary to remove the screw.
  4. Pull the handle dome (#6) off.

  4. Snap the cap (#1) onto the handle (#3).
