How do I install the Battery Backup?
‒Option 1: Flo Smart Water Monitor & Shutoff already installed prior to receiving new Battery Backup Accessory
- Disconnect Flo Power Adapter from wall
- Disconnect Power Adapter from Flo device
- Mount Battery Backup with provided screws*
- Connect Battery Backup to Flo device
- Connect Power Adapter to Battery Backup
- Plug Power Adapter into wall outlet
‒Option 2: Installing Battery Backup Accessory at the same time as Flo Smart Water Monitor & Shutoff
- Mount Battery Backup to wall with provided screws*
- Plug Power Adapter into wall outlet
- Connect Power Adapter to Battery Backup Accessory
- Connect Battery Backup to Flo Device

What do the lights on the device mean?
- Solid green: Fully charged, AC power present
- Blinking green: Charging battery backup
- Blinking red: No AC power, operating as battery backup
- Solid red: Battery depleted. Needs charged and/or error. In case of error, unplug the power adapter from the Battery Backup accessory and unplug battery from the Flo Smart Water Monitor & Shutoff and allow it to cool for 15 minutes. Plug power adapter back into Battery Backup and plug battery back into Flo Smart Water Monitor & Shutoff to complete charging cycle.
- In case of no LED indicator, ensure the Battery Backup Accessory is properly plugged into the Flo Smart Water Monitor & Shutoff and Power Adapter.

How long does it take to charge?
- 5-6.5hrs under standard conditions
Where can this be installed?
- Battery Backup should be installed indoors. Avoid installing in direct sunlight
What is the operating temperature?
- 0–45 degrees Celsius (32-113 degrees F)
Can I still use the Battery Backup if my Flo is installed outdoors?
- Need Engineering answer
Can this be installed in a garage?
- Yes, as long as the operating temps are between 32-113 degrees F and not in direct sunlight
Do I need to mount it?
- Although it’s not mandatory, it is recommended to mount it
Will my Flo shutoff the water in the event of a potential catastrophe during a power disruption?
- Yes. Although offline, your Flo will not communicate to the app, it will however turn off the water if it detects abnormalities in your home.
How long does the battery work for in the event of a power disruption?
- 4 hours as long as it’s fully charged once power is lost

How to clean the battery?
- Brush or blow dust and debris out of the air vents using compressed air or a vacuum. Keep the air vents free of obstructions, sawdust, and wood chips, dirt, etc., Do not spray, wash, or immerse the air vents in water.
- Wipe off the housing and the plastic components using a dry soft cloth. Do not use strong solvents or detergents on plastic housing or plastic components. Certain household cleaners may cause damage and may cause a shock hazard.
