QR code not scanning
The QR code on the Flo Smart Water Monitor & Shutoff is used to set up your device in the Moen Smart Water Network app. You can locate the QR code on the Flo Shutoff device below the power input or on the paper provided in the product box. You can also find the the serial number and MAC ID next to the QR code.

Troubleshooting QR Code Not Scanning
- Ensure that there is enough light in the area. If the area is not brightly lit, use your phone's flashlight to improve visibility.
- Increase the brightness of your phone's screen.
- Clean your camera lens gently to remove any smudges or dirt.
- Slowly move your phone's camera toward and away from the QR code until the code is successfully scanned.
- If the code is inaccessible, use the QR code found in the product box.
- If the paper QR code is not available, use your phone’s camera app to take a picture of the MAC ID located below the QR code on the device and contact Moen Smart Water Support at 1-800-289-6636 and provide them with a picture of the MAC ID.
Error Messages and Solutions
"Camera Access Required"
To scan device codes within the Moen Smart Water app, you must enable camera permissions for the app.
- iOS: Tap Open Settings > toggle Camera permission on.
- Android: Tap Open Settings > Permissions > Camera > Allow only when using the app.
"No usable data found"
This message appears if you scan the QR code with your phone's camera app instead of the Moen Smart Water app. To resolve this, open the Moen app and scan the QR code there.
"Device is already paired"
If you see this message, it means your device is already paired to another account. Log in with the account your Flo Smart Water Monitor & Shutoff is paired to.
If this is the first time pairing the Flo Smart Water Monitor & Shutoff, please contact Moen Smart Water Support at 1-800-289-6636 and have the MAC ID from the device available. The MAC ID is located next to the QR code on the back of the device or on the paper included in the box.
"Invalid QR Code"
Please confirm you are scanning the QR code on the Flo Shutoff device below the power input or on the paper provided in the product box. Do not scan the hang tag around the manual shutoff knob as the QR code on the hang tag is only used for downloading the Moen Smart Water app in the app store.
