**Important*

After removing cartridge, we recommend cleaning the inside of the valve body (shown below) with a soft bristled nylon brush (e.g. old toothbrush), to remove any calcium build up. After cleaning, turn on water supply lines slightly to flush clean water through the open valve. We recommend placing a bowl or cup over top of valve to redirect any water splash into the sink. This will help extend the life of the cartridge.

Installing the Cartridge

Cartridge must be installed with both clear plastic tabs perfectly aligned at the front and back of the valve body. (If looking at a clock, tabs must be at the 12 o’clock and 6 o’clock position.) After aligning, push cartridge tabs into faucet valve until cartridge body hits the bottom of valve.

Once cartridge body is completely flush and tabs are perfectly aligned at the front and back of the valve body, insert cartridge clip (as shown below) through the slot on the back of valve body.

**Note** If clip does not slide through with ease, either cartridge tabs are not perfectly aligned, or cartridge body is not fully pushed all the way into the valve. If this happens, do not remove cartridge. Place white or black twisting tool (included with cartridge) over the newly installed cartridge and push down to ensure cartridge is fully recessed. If tabs don’t seem perfectly aligned, using same twisting tool, turn cartridge slightly to the left or slightly to the right until cartridge clip slides in smoothly.

Reversing Hot and Cold for 1225 Cartridge

If hot and cold are reversed, disassemble faucet until cartridge stem is reached. Using pliers, rotate cartridge stem 180 degrees and then reassemble.
