Removal of the Knob

 Always turn your water supplies off before disassembling your faucet. With the supplies turned off, move your faucet’s handle to the “on” position to relieve pressure.

  1. Use the following chart to remove the faucet’s handle.

Knob Handle 

  1. Pry the handle cap up to remove. Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the screw and washer. Then, remove the handle.

  2. Using a 3/32” hex wrench, loosen the screw from the chrome adapter. Remove the chrome adapter from the cartridge stem. Using a flathead screwdriver, gently pry the collar up and off of the faucet.

Now move to step 3 remove the cartridge

  1. Pry off the plug button to remove. Then, using a 3/32” hex wrench, slightly loosen the screw inside the lever of the faucet.

  1. Pull the collar up to remove.

Now move to step 3 remove the cartridge

Removal of the Cartridge

  1. Using the installation tool or a wrench, unscrew the black cartridge nut counter-clockwise to remove.

  2. Pull up on the stainless steel stem to remove the cartridge.

Cleaning and Flushing of the Valve Body

  1. We recommend cleaning the inside of the valve body with a soft nylon brush. After cleaning, turn on water supply lines slightly to flush clean water through the open valve. We recommend placing a bowl or cup over top of valve to redirect the water into the sink.

Cartridge Replacement

  1. View the 1255 cartridge to find the three small ridges. Look into the black chamber of the faucet to find the three large grooves. These grooves will accept the small ridges.
  2. Insert the 1255 cartridge into the chamber making sure to line up the three ridges with the grooves.
  3. Using the grey assembly tool or a wrench, tighten the new 1255 cartridge nut until snug. Next turn an additional 90 tighten the new 1255 cartridge nut until snug. Next turn an additional 90 degrees to fully secure the nut. degrees to fully secure the nut.

To reassemble the handle, work backwards from steps 3 to 1.
