10. Caution: This step will cause water to flow from the valve to the surrounding area. Place a towel around the back of the faucet to help control water flow. Under the sink, slowly turn the hot and cold water valves back on. This will allow a flow of water to flush the valve. Turn this off after a few seconds.
11. Slide the new 100885 diverter into the hole in the brass body until the diverter is fully seated.

12. Reassemble the faucet by looking back at the “Removal” section and working in reverse from step 8 to step 1. After assembling the faucet, refer to the “Special Note” below.
Special Note:
After assembling the faucet, turn the faucet on and inspect the area under the handle to ensure there is not any water seeping out. If water is seen leaking here, remove the handle and the collar and tighten the retaining nut another 1/8 of a turn.

k3 image 17.1.png k3 image 17.2.png

18. Using pliers, grab the black cylinder inside of the valve body. There are three holes in the black cylinder that provide a place to grab. Then, pull up to remove.

k3 image 18.1.png

19. Flush the brass body. It is important that there is not any debris in the chamber. If you flush the brass body, a lot of water will be produced and the water can be hard to control. This is not advised if there is a chance the water might harm anything in the area. Make sure to place towels around the area and a bowl over the top of the brass valve to control the water. To flush the valve body, you turn the main cold water supply on under the sink. Be prepared to shut the main valve off quickly if needed.

20. To install the new diverter cage, slide the new cage into the brass body and press until it is fully seated. Be sure to line up the hole on the side of the black diverter cage up with the hole in the brass body.

21. View the bottom of the cartridge to find the small tabs protruding. Look into the brass chamber to find the location of the three large holes and the smaller holes. These smaller holes will accept the small tabs protruding from the bottom of the cartridge.

k3 image 21.1.png

22. Insert the cartridge into the brass chamber making sure to line up the three large holes. Ensure the small tabs go into the small holes so the cartridge will seat completely.
