How To: Restart Your Moen Flo Shutoff
This article contains information relevant to the Moen Flo Shutoff, which was formerly known as the Flo Smart Water Monitor and Shutoff system.
If you should ever need to restart (power cycle) your Moen Flo Shutoff, you can do this in the Moen Smart Water Network App, the Flo by Moen App, or by manually unplugging the Flo Shutoff. This article outlines the steps to take depending on which App you currently have.
Restart Your Moen Flo Shutoff in the App
These instructions are for only if your Flo Shutoff is connected and online. If your Flo Shutoff is offline, please see the instructions below for unplugging the Flo Shutoff to restart.

Open the Moen Smart Water Network App and tap on the Moen Flo Shutoff device you would like to restart. |

From your Flo Shutoff device page, tap Settings at the top.

Manually Restart Your Moen Flo Shutoff
- Unplug the Moen Flo Shutoff power adapter from the outlet for 20 seconds.
- Plug the power adapter back in and wait 60 seconds for the boot process.
- Once the Shutoff is done restarting, verify the valve status light is solid. If the device was connected to a Wi-Fi network that is active, the Wi-Fi status light will be solid green.
It is preferred to unplug the power adapter from the outlet, but if you have a Battery Backup installed or if you need to unplug from the device, you can unplug the cord from the Moen Flo Shutoff:
- Unplug the power adapter from the Moen Flo Shutoff for 20 seconds.
- Plug the power adapter back in by firmly pushing the power cord into the Flo Shutoff device and twist and turn while pushing the power cord until the second ring is completely in the device.

- Once the Shutoff is done restarting, verify the valve status light is solid. If the device was connected to a Wi-Fi network that is active, the Wi-Fi status light will be solid green.
