Placement of Smart Leak Detector
The Smart Leak Detector can be placed anywhere in a home to alert you when and where it detects moisture to help prevent water damage and loss. Simply place a water detector anywhere you’re worried about leaks, like in your basement, laundry room, bathroom or garage, and receive real-time alerts when it detects moisture.
When used as a standalone sensor
The Smart Leak Detector uses a CR123A battery and operates as a standalone sensor when placed directly on the floor without the use of the mounting base. When used as a standalone sensor, the leak sensors are located on the back of the detector and it is recommended the LED light on the detector is facing up.
Using the mounting base and accessory
When the mounting base and an accessory is attached, the sensors on the back of the detector become inactive. When attached to the wall mount base, the remote sensing disc (included with Smart Leak Detector) or the separate leak sensing cable accessory must be installed to enable leak detection. The mounting base is intended to be used for wall mounting of the primary sensor using the included self-adhesive mounting sticker, wall mount screws, and/or dry mount anchors.
