What is the network port used for on the Sump Pump Monitor?

The Smart Sump Pump Monitor network port on the bottom of the device has no function and does not work for internet connectivity. The Smart Sump Pump Monitor requires 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi to operate.

The network port is also referred to as wired connection port, physical connection, LAN port, RJ-45.
