This article will provide step-by-step instructions for replacing this service kit.

Preparation:

The water supply shut off valves must be turned off- see article How to Turn Off the Water Supply to the Faucet.
Recommended Tools: 58" Socket Wrench or The Installation Tool (Included with the faucet)
The following instructions assume the handle and associated handle pieces have been removed. For additional details, visit solutions.moen.com and select the type you are repairing. The faucet guide will contain specific information on handle assemblies associated with that style of product.
Other Recommendations: This repair is best done with two people.

1. Lift the spout off of the faucet.

2. Loosen the faucet from underneath the sink by using a 5/8” socket wrench or the installation tool on the mounting nut.

3. While simultaneously lifting the valve body up, squeeze the bearing washer into place.

As the photo below shows, you will want to place the bearing washer below the bottom O-ring into the groove and squeeze the bearing washer into place.

4. Re-tighten the faucet mounting nut with your 5/8” socket wrench or installation tool.

5. Place the spout back onto the faucet.
