174329 Handle Adapter: 3372 or 3375 Independent Transfer Valves

This article will provide step-by-step instructions on replacing the 174329 handle adapter for the 3372 (3 Function) or 3375 (2 Function) Vertical Spa Transfer Valves.

Preparation:

The water supply shut off valves must be turned off- see article How to Turn Off the Water Supply to the Faucet.
Recommended Tools: Pliers, Phillips Screwdriver & 7/64" Hex Wrench

Disassembly:

1. Remove the handle screw (#1) by inserting the 7/64" Hex Wrench into the hole underneath the handle (#2) to unthread the handle screw (#1). Remove the handle (#2).

2. To remove the handle adapter (#4), use a Phillips screwdriver to unthread the adapter screw (#3) counter-clockwise and slide the handle adapter (#4) off.

Assembly:

1. Use pliers to pull the brass stem of the cartridge (#5) outward. Note: To ensure the proper operation of the valve, the cartridge stem (#5) must remain pulled outward.

2. Rotate the stem of the cartridge (#5) so the two flat sides of the brass stem are facing to the left and right.

3. Slide the handle adapter (#4) onto the shower assembly. Using a Phillips screwdriver, thread and tighten the adapter screw (#3) into the center of the handle adapter (#4).

4. With the lever pointing down, slide the handle (#2) onto the adapter (#4) and use a 7/64" Hex Wrench to tighten the handle screw (#1)
