96778 Spout O-Rings for Two Handle Kitchen Faucet with Escutcheon

This article will explain how to replace spout o-rings in a two handle kitchen faucet with a low arc spout.


Preparation:

1. Unthread the spout cap (#1) from the faucet.

2. Lift the spout (#2) off of the faucet.

3. Match the corresponding spout O-rings (#3) on the valve body with a spout O-ring from the parts kit. The 96778 kit comes with 2 small and 1 lager O-ring and a pack of silicone lubricate.

4. Use a flathead screwdriver to gently pull each spout O-ring off from their respective groove in the valve body. (We recommend using a soft tip marker to mark where the original spout O-ring was removed from for proper placement of the new spout O-ring.)

5. Apply a thin layer from the supplied pack of silicone lubricate to each rubber spout O-ring.

6. Slide each spout O-ring onto the valve body and into the correct groove. (The lower spout O-ring does not go over the holes in the valve body.
