Shower Handle: Moentrol with Integrated Transfer Valve- Lever Type B

The 3320, 3330 and 3350 Moentrol with Integrated Transfer Valves have two different handle types. This article will provide step-by-step instructions for Handle Type B. Preparation:


Upper Handle: Transfer

Disassembly:

1. Remove the handle set screw (#1A) by inserting the 7/64" Hex wrench into the hole underneath the handle (#2A) to unscrew the set screw (#1A).

2. To remove the handle adapter (#4A), use a Phillips screwdriver to unthread the adapter screw (#3A) counter-clockwise.

3. Slide the spacer (#5A) off the shower assembly.

Assembly:

1. Confirm that the cartridge clip is installed and use pliers to pull the brass stem of the cartridge (#6A) outward.

2. Rotate the stem of the cartridge (#6A) so the two flat sides of the brass stem are facing to the left and right.

3. Slide the spacer (#5A) onto the assembly.

4. Position the handle adapter (#4A), see image below for proper orientation, and slide it onto the shower assembly.

5. Using a Phillips screwdriver, thread and tighten the adapter screw (#3A) into the center of the handle adapter (#4A).

6. Slide the handle (#2A) onto the shower assembly and use a 7/64" hex wrench to tighten the handle screw (#1A).

Lower Handle: Temperature/Flow

Note: The handle brake (#5B) is only used on models with oval shaped escutcheon/backplates after 2007.

Disassembly:

1. Remove the handle set screw (#1B) by inserting the 7/64" Hex wrench into the hole underneath the handle (#2B) to unscrew the set screw (#1B).

2. To remove the handle adapter (#4B), use a Phillips screwdriver to unthread the adapter screw (#3B) counter-clockwise. If your model has a handle brake (#5B), it will come off with the handle adapter (#4B).

Assembly:

1. Confirm that the cartridge clip is installed and rotate the stem of the cartridge (#6B) so the small notch is facing down.

2. If you need to install the handle brake (#5B), turn the handle adapter (#4B) to the backside (the side without numbers) and slide the handle brake (#5B) onto the handle adapter (#4B).

3. Position the handle adapter (#4B), see images below for proper orientation, and slide it onto the shower assembly. Using a Phillips screwdriver, thread and tighten the adapter screw (#3B) into the center of the handle adapter (#4B).

4. Slide the handle (#2B) onto the shower assembly and use a 7/64" hex wrench to tighten the handle screw (#1B).
