Undermount Sinks are mounted to the underside of the countertop. This creates a “rimless” look and a straight seamless surface between the kitchen sink and the counter giving the impression of more space. This also creates a sleeker more modern appearance.

Drop-In Kitchen Sinks

Drop-in kitchen sinks are also known as an overmount or self-rimming kitchen sinks. They are created to be placed inside a pre-cut hole in the countertop. It is designed for an easy installation. A drop-in kitchen sink has a visible lip over the edge of the countertop.

Farmhouse (Apron) Kitchen Sinks

Farmhouse (Apron) kitchen sinks have a distinct look because of their exposed front-facing side. They are large kitchen sinks that fit into the counter top with the front edge of the kitchen sink being exposed. They can be installed as either an undermount or drop-in or have their edges flush with the countertop.

What Is Meant By The Term 'Gauge Of Stainless Steel'?

Moen's stainless steel kitchen sinks come in a variety of gauges. The gauge number is an indication of the stainless steel's thickness, the lower the gauge number the thicker the kitchen sink. The thicker the steel, the less susceptible it is to denting, bowing and noise transmission from pots and pans hitting the metal surface. Kitchen sinks in the series will tell you what gauge of stainless steel those kitchen sinks will be.

Moen makes a number of different size kitchen sinks from small bar prep sinks to large double bowl kitchen sinks and many options in between. Standard kitchen sink sizes are 25" X 22"  for a single bowl kitchen sink and 33" X 22" for a double bowl kitchen sink.
