How to Set up Integrations

Flo by Moen Smart Water Monitor and Shutoff: The Flo Smart Water Monitor and Shutoff has integrations with third-party smart home controller devices including Ring, Google Home, Control4, NICE, and Alarm.com. In this article, learn how to set up and control your Flo Smart Water Monitor & Shutoff from your connected smart home system of choice.
Ring 

Ring users in the US with a Flo Smart Water Monitor & Shutoff can add their Shutoff to their Ring app. Once added, this integration allows you to seamlessly jump from the Ring home screen to the Flo by Moen app. The Flo tile will be added to your Ring app dashboard and will allow you to see your device status and have the optioning of turning the valve on or off. You can also enable Alerts so that any notifications sent from the Flo by Moen app will also be sent through the Ring app.

Set up your Flo Smart Water Monitor & Shutoff:  

Before Google can access information about your home’s water, a Flo Smart Water Monitor & Shutoff must be installed on the home’s main supply line and paired to the Moen Smart Water Network app (iOS, Android). Once the shutoff is completely set up through your home’s Wi-Fi, you can begin to integrate the Flo Smart Water Monitor & Shutoff with Google Home. 

Note: The Flo Smart Water Monitor & Shutoff is currently supported on Google Home through the Moen Smart Water Network app. The Flo Shutoff will need to be added and linked in the Moen Smart Water app to enable Google Home integration.  

How To Use: 
  1. Open the Google Home app and tap the + icon to add a new device. 

  1. Select Works with Google Home and search for “Moen Smart Water”.  

  1. Log in with your Moen Smart Water app email and password or select social login option if you created your account via social login. 

  1. (Optional) Assign the device(s) to a specific room in your Google Home.  

  1. Try out the available actions (below). 

Available Actions: 

Change {shutoff device name} to [Away, Home, Sleep] Mode. - This will change all devices in the same Home/Location to this mode.  

Close {shutoff device name} 

Open {shutoff device name} 

Close {room name} valve

Open {room name} valve

Control4 

Since April 2019, Flo by Moen users with any Control4 interface can continue to build their connected ecosystem by integrating their Smart Water Shutoff.  

The Flo by Moen driver needed for Control4 functionality gives customers easy access to manage and monitor their water system in real-time, including shutoff from anywhere. Alarm.com 

With Alarm.com integration, Flo Smart Water Monitor and Shutoff users will maintain full access to features and functionality of the existing Moen smartphone app, with the additional benefit of receiving information about device connectivity status, updates on valve state changes and the ability to open and close the valve from the Alarm.com App. 

You will first need to add your Flo Shutoff using the Flo by Moen app or Moen Smart Water Network app. Once the device is added, you will need to go to the Alarm.com app, click Add Device, and select the Flo device. Once you click on the Flo device, you will be asked to log in with your Flo account email and password to link. 

Once you set up the Flo Smart Water Monitor & Shutoff and the Moen smartphone app, the app will sync with the Alarm.com app, allowing you to check in on your home quickly and easily from one location, whether you’re at home or away.

Frequently Asked Questions 
What is my Flo by Moen account email?  

Moen Smart Water Network App: Go to Settings (gear icon at the bottom) and then tap on General Settings. Scroll to the bottom of General Settings to find your email listed under “Flo by Moen Account”. 

Flo by Moen App: Go to Settings (gear icon at the bottom) and then tap on Edit under User Profile.  

 What if I can’t remember my Flo by Moen account password?  

If you are unable to remember your Flo by Moen account password, you can change your Flo password by clicking on “Forgot Password” at user.meetflo.com.
