Water Use in AWAY Mode
What does Water Use in "Away" Mode mean?
Water Use in Away Mode is a critical alert that occurs when the system mode on the App is set to Away and water usage was detected. Away Mode should be used when you will be away from home for an extended period of time. In Away Mode you will be alerted to all water usage and your water will automatically be shut off if any water usage is detected. The water usage can be coming from exterior water hoses, flushed toilets, faucet opened or a pipe burst. This means that your Flo Smart Water Monitor and Shutoff has detected water use that is outside of the normal water use activities such and assumes that you are not home to take action.
While some background fixtures like irrigation, ice makers and water softeners may be used in Away mode, keep in mind that the system's parameters are much stricter to better protect your home.
Solution:
Here are some solutions:
- Identify What Can Be Causing the Alert- address the underlying reason. Whether that involves calling a Plumber or adjusting Flo settings for low flow or short duration events
- If Flo Shut off Water After Critical Alert- If your Flo Smart Water Monitor and Shutoff has shut off the water to your home for this critical alert, you can always restore water to your home by navigating to App and sliding the switch to the "ON" position if safe to do so.
- Adjust settings for low flow and short duration events- such as refrigerator ice maker and water softeners to not trigger shutoff.
