This article includes detailed information on the Flo Smart Water Monitor and Shutoff, also known as the Flo by Moen Water Shutoff. It also refers to the Moen Smart Water app, also known as the Flo by Moen app.
What does Water Use in "Away" Mode mean?
Water Use in Away Mode is a critical alert that occurs when the system mode on the Moen Smart Water app is set to Away. This means that your Flo Smart Water Monitor and Shutoff has detected water use that is outside of the normal water use activities and assumes that you are not home to take action.
While some background fixtures like irrigation, ice makers and water softeners may used in Away mode, keep in mind that the system's parameters are much more strict to better protect your home.
If your Flo Smart Water Monitor and Shutoff has shut off the water to your home for this critical alert, you can always restore water to your home by navigating to the Device Details page on the Moen Smart Water app and sliding the switch to the "ON" position if safe to do so.
