100883 Spout O-Ring Kit

This article will provide step-by-step instructions for replacing this service kit.

​ Preparation:  

  • The water supply shut off valves must be turned off- see article How to Turn Off the Water Supply to the Faucet.
  • Recommended Tools: Pliers, Flathead Screwdriver
  • The following instructions assume the handle and associated handle pieces have been removed. For additional details, visit Single Handle Standard Spout Faucets. The faucet guide will contain specific information on the handle assemblies associated with that style of product.

Do not remove the cartridge nut or the cartridge for this repair.

Disassembly:

  1. Unthread the dome (#1) by hand and then lift off the plastic ring (#2).
  2. Pull up on the spout (#3) to remove.
  3. The two rubber o-rings (#4) will be located on the valve body (#5). Use a flathead screwdriver to gently remove the o-rings (#4). Caution: If the valve body (#5) gets scratched or gouged, it will cause leaking issues.

Assembly:

  1. Coat the new o-rings (#4) using the lubricant supplied with the new o-rings (#4).
  2. Slide the new o-rings (#4) onto the valve body (#5).
  3. Slide the spout (#3) onto the valve body (#5) until it is flush with the escutcheon plate (#6).
  4. Install the plastic ring (#2) and tighten the dome (#1) by hand.
