1269 Cartridge: Single Handle Bathroom Faucets

Shut off Water Supply: The water supply shut off valves must be turned off- see article How to Turn Off the Water Supply to the Faucet
Recommended Tools: Installation Tool included with the Faucet and the replacement Cartridge Kit (part number 228305) or a 25 mm socket wrench.
Handle Removal: The following instructions assume the handle and associated handle pieces have been removed. See Single Handle Bathroom Faucets: Direct Connect 1269

Installation Tool 228305

Using the Installation Tool (see image above) that was included with Cartridge Kit or a 25 mm socket wrench, unthread the recessed black Cartridge Nut (A), counterclockwise, remove and discard it.
Lift out the Cartridge (B) from the Faucet Body (C).

Note: It is recommended to clean and flush the valve body prior to installing the new cartridge. See article Valve Body Cleaning and Flushing

Line the two small Feet (D) on the bottom of the Cartridge (B) with the two round openings at the bottom of the Faucet Body (C) and insert the Cartridge (B).
Firmly thread on the new Cartridge Nut (A) clockwise with the Installation Tool that was included with Cartridge Kit or a 25 mm socket wrench.
