There are multiple handle mechanisms used on Roman Tub faucets. Confirming which one you are working with will require removing the handle and identifying your handle mechanism. Preparation:

The water supply shut off valves must be turned off- see article How to Turn Off the Water Supply to the Faucet.

The following instructions assume the handle and associated handle pieces have been removed. Disassembly:

1. Use pliers to unthread the white hexagonal cartridge nut (#1). If you are working with the two piece version, only the white hexagonal upper portion needs to be removed.

2. Remove the white handle adapter (#2).

Assembly:

1. Install the white handle adapter (#2).

2. Use pliers to tighten the white hexagonal cartridge nut (#1).
