13462 and 13463 Stem Extension Kit

There are multiple handle mechanisms used on Roman Tub faucets. Identifying which one you are working with will require identifying your handle assembly, removing the handle and identifying your handle mechanism. Preparation:

  • The water supply shut off valves must be turned off- see article How to Turn Off the Water Supply to the Faucet.
  • Recommended Tools: Phillips Screwdriver
  • The following instructions assume the handle and associated handle pieces have been removed. For additional details, visit Roman Tub Deck Mount: Lever or Roman Tub Deck Mount: Knob and select the type you are repairing. The faucet guide will contain specific information on handle assemblies associated with that style of product.

    For disassembly, follow the number of the parts in order starting with the chrome nut (#1). Note: Escutcheon Adjuster (#5) does not need to be removed unless it is damaged. This part can be threaded higher or lower in the valve body to accommodate the handle kit.  For re-assembly, follow the number of the parts in reverse order starting in reverse order starting with the stem extension (#4).

    Note: (#5) is an height adjustment piece that can be adjusted higher or lower into the valve to accept the handle. It is not necessary to remove the piece unless it has been damaged.
