Disassembly:

1. Remove the upper bearing washer (B).

Caution: The upper bearing washer (B) will need to be reused, be careful not to damage the the part. Use a pair of needle nose pliers and slightly pull back the prongs at the top of the upper bearing washer (see Diagram 1) until it is loose, and lift it from the faucet.

Assembly:

Note: The 170206 Upper Bearing Washer Service kit will include a rubber O-ring. Do not use the O-ring on this faucet style.

The upper bearing washer (B) is designed to hold the faucet spout in place. It is designed with a split in it for easy installation. Be careful not to expand or stretch the upper bearing washer (B) out of shape.

  • Carefully slide the upper bearing washer (B) down the valve body so the split lines up with the vertical rib (A). Be careful not to expand or stretch the upper bearing washer (B) out of shape. The bottom of the upper bearing washer (B) tucks into the top of the spout which will allow the prongs (B) to tuck under the valve overhang (C) (See Diagram 2). The spout should not pull up if the upper bearing washer (#2) was installed properly. To test for movement, gently pull up on the spout.
