Instant Hot Tank: Installing the Tank in the Correct Position

Requirements for Positioning and Installing the Tank:
  • Tank must be mounted vertically.
  • Provide a minimum 4 inches of air space on sides and top of unit for air circulation.
  • The tank must be installed a maximum of 30" from the electrical outlet. .
  • The electrical outlet cannot be controlled by an on/off switch. A 120 volt, 60 Hz, AC only 15 or 20 ampere fused, grounded electrical supply is required. It is recommended that a separate circuit serving only your hot water tank be provided. If a mating outlet is not available, it is the personal responsibility and obligation of the customer to have a properly grounded, 3-prong outlet installed by a qualified electrician
  • The plug must be plugged into an outlet that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances. If the plug will not fit into the outlet, or you are in doubt as to whether your outlet is properly grounded, call a qualified electrician. WARNING - Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in a risk of electric shock.
Installing the Tank:

  • With tank at the desired mounting location, mark the cabinet wall (A) at the top of the tank.
     
  • Set tank aside. Mark a second line (B) 2-1/8 inches (54 mm) below the first line. (A)
     
  • Align bottom of Tank Mounting Bracket (C) even with the second line (B) and use screws (D) to secure to cabinet wall. Note: Drywall anchors may be used for additional support. 
  • Hang Tank on Bracket.
