Shower Faucet: Water Temperature Issues- 1/2" Exact Temp Valve

This article is designed to troubleshoot temperature fluctuations with the 3301 and 3321 1/2" Exact Temp valve. The valve was introduced in 2000 and retired in 2006.
Symptom Solution

When the knob is set to full hot water, the water temperature is too hot.
  1. Recalibrate the valve, see article Shower Faucet: Temperature Recalibration- 1/2" Exact Temp Valve
  2. Clean the filter screens, see article 1/2" Exact Temp Valve Filter Screen Cleaning
  3. Replace the 103674 thermostatic cartridge, see article 103674 Cartridge: 1/2" Exact Temp Valve

When the knob is set to full cold water, the water is not cold enough

  3. Replace the 103674 thermostatic cartridge, see article 103674 Cartridge: 1/2" Exact Temp Valve

Water temperature and flow change without changing the temperature or flow knobs
