Disassembly:

1. While holding the rubber grip stationary, use your other hand to rotate the shell (see Image 1) of the knob (A) counter-clockwise until it disconnects from the valve system.

2. If the escutcheon ring (B) needs to be removed, slide it off the valve system.

3. To remove the screw (C), use a Phillips screwdriver to rotate it counter-clockwise.

4. Slide the temperature extension (D) off the assembly.

If the base escutcheon (G) needs to be removed, the upper and lower handles will both need to be disassembled first. The base escutcheon (G) will then slide off.

Assembly:

1. If the escutcheon ring (B) was removed, position the wide end ot the escutcheon ring (B) flush against the base escutcheon (G).

2. The interior of the temperature extension (D) contains splines that will interlock with the exposed splines on the valve system. Slide the temperature extension (D) on.

3. To install the screw (C), use a Phillips screwdriver to rotate it clockwise until tight.

4. Rotate the temperature extension (D) counter-clockwise until it stops. Be careful not to move it from this position.

5. The interior of the knob (A) contains splines that align in between the exposed splines of the temperature extension (D). Slide the knob (A) onto the temperature extension (D).

6. While using one hand to hold the rubber grip stationary, use your other hand to rotate the shell (see Image 1) of the knob (A) clockwise until the knob is secure.

Note: If the range of temperature the handle is currently providing needs to be adjusted, see article Shower Faucet: Temperature Recalibration- 1/2" Exact Temp Valve.
