Single Handle 4" Centerset Lever: Direct Connect 1255

Moen produces a variety of sngle handle bathroom faucets. The interior components and assembly are not the same for each model. This article will explain one of the more common handle assemblies referred to as a Direct Connect 1255.  This handle style was introduced in 2009, and utilizes a 1255 cartridge.

 Preparation:

Disassembly:

  1. Remove the plug button (#1).
  2. Insert a 3/32" Hex wrench into the hole on the front of the handle (#3) and unthread the set screw (#2). It is not necessary to remove the set screw (#2), loosen it until the handle (#3) lifts off the faucet.
  3. Remove the handle dome (#4).

Assembly:

  1. Snap the handle dome (#4) back onto the faucet.
  2. Place the handle (#3) on top of the stem of the cartridge.
  3. Insert the 3/32" Hex wrench into the hole on the handle (#3) to tighten the set screw (#2). Insert the plug button (#1).
